About Dimondale
Fleming & Barnes, Inc. is a California 501(c) Public Benefit Organization, governed by a group of concerned volunteers serving as our Board of Directors. These caring individuals devote the time and expertise needed to effectively operate and grow a service-oriented organization. Currently, Fleming & Barnes does business as Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility, providing residential services to abused, neglected, and/or at-risk-youth at eight facilities throughout Los Angeles County. We work closely with the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, as well as LA County Juvenile Probation. Our operations are governed predominately by Title 22 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code. Each of our facilities is licensed by the Community Care Licensing division of the California Department of Social Services. This agency also licenses our Administrators.
Population Served
STRTP
Our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs serve at-risk boys and girls aged 12-18, who have a history of delinquency, severe emotional disturbance, or who have been unsuccessful at a lower level of care. We provider housing, supervision, and intensive mental health services, as well as a wide range of additional supports.
TSCF
Our Temporary Shelter Care Facilities provide emergency housing to youths aged 12-18 who find themselves between placements or awaiting placement following removal from the home. They are provided with twenty-four-hour care and supervision for up to ten calendar days. We also provide intensive mental health support to ease what may be a very difficult and confusing time in a child’s life.
FFA
Our Foster Family Agency recruits and trains Resource Families to provide housing and care to children aged 0 to 18 who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. Resource families are individuals, couples, or families that seek to provide day-to-day care for children that are under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court, or otherwise in the care of a county child welfare agency or probation department.
Our Philosophy
Dimondale believes that adolescents, regardless of social or economic condition, have the capacity to take charge of their lives and should be enabled and empowered to make critical decisions for their future. We do this by:
- Creating a treatment and educational setting that is safe, nurturing, adaptive and responsive to the needs of residents.
- Providing a continuum of care involving varied degrees of structure and services through a team approach.
- Ensuring a whole-person, multi-disciplinary approach by addressing an individual’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
- Offering culturally sensitive services that demonstrate a respect for the cultural differences of clients.
Mission Statement
